ATV first time buyer, yfz450x or trx450r?

I live in WA state, lots of dirt, mud, rain, trees, trails etc. I am 6'2 196lbs and I am looking for a bike to have a little fun with. My buddy has a Raptor 700 and it seems to be just a bit too much torque for what I am looking to do. (lifting the front end every time I shift is NOT ideal) I am considering the 2010 model of a Yamaha YFZ450x or a 2009 Honda TRX400X, Both are just about $6k new and I am trying to lock in those close out prices before they bring in the 2012 line up into the shops. Which is the all around "best" bike for a first time owner?
