Profile on Multiple Dating Sites?

Is it acceptable etiquette to have your profile posted on multiple dating sites, for example on Yahoo personals and also on E-harmony? It seems that putting a profile on multiple sites will allow me to 'cast a wider net' so to speak, but it also feels a bit awkward. Thoughts?
