Enlisting to the Marine Corps as rifleman (0311) after 23, is that possible?

I've been always interested in the USMC since young, but due to my personal conditions, I can only join the Marines at my 25, also I'd like to be a combatant marine. But some of my buddies said that Marines only accept personals around 17-23 to become fighting marines; past 23, you can only enlist for other MOSs instead of Infantry MOSs. Is that true?
